Send Your Expired Grocery Coupons to Our Military Families Overseas...
|
Expired
Grocery Coupons WHAT to DO and WHERE to SEND THEM!!! Stop tossing those expired grocery coupons in the trash! Our U.S. military families stationed overseas are able to use them on base for up to SIX MONTHS after the manufacturer's expiration date! Help us keep our list of participating bases up to date. If you know of a base that needs to be added or removed from our list please contact us with their current mailing information--we update our mailing list every month. When sending your expired grocery coupons keep in mind the time it takes to mail your coupons internationally--usually many weeks--so do try to get them sent off quickly. Of course if you know a military family personally you should probably send your coupons directly to them--if you do not you are welcome to send them to the bases we list on our site. When the coupons are received someone at the base will either distribute the coupon donations to needy families or place them in an area where they can be picked up by families at the PX and Commissary. (Note: They can only accept regular manufacturer's coupons like from the newspaper inserts--no special "in store" coupons or internet printed coupons. One of our readers wrote in to say that it also helps them if you can separate the coupons into two categories; food and non-food.) As our list is widely viewed by many readers and bases are sometimes "adopted" by community groups, you may receive a letter from the base stating that they now have enough coupons. If this happens, just let me know and I will remove them from our list. GrocerySavingTips.com maintains our base address list on a monthly basis, unlike other coupon address lists you may find on the Internet that may or may not be current. If you have any additional info or bases that we should ADD or REMOVE please contact michelle@grocerysavingtips.com -- include the country and mailing address in the format as we have listed below. If you don't have a military family member overseas, maybe you know someone who does? Please have them contact us if they would like their base to be added to our mailing list! :o)
Thank You for Helping Us With this Project!
Addressing your package... The post office may request a specific contact name when you go to mail your coupons. Just explain to them that we cannot maintain a list of personal contact names because they CHANGE constantly and that we are a volunteer group donating grocery coupons to help our military families stationed overseas. The postal worker can also open and inspect the package if that will help and verify that the contents are grocery coupons being sent to our U.S. commissaries overseas. Addressing the package directly to the Commissary or "Family Services" should also help. Also, the USPS requests, "Do not include the country or the base camp's city, as it might be routed through the host country's mail system." We have include this extra information in our address list below so you will know where they are located, but when you mail your envelopes you will address them like this...Family
Services (or Information We Have Listed) * * * * * * * In addition... we would like to suggest that you contact the base first if you are sending a large amount of coupons as a group to make sure they are still accepting coupons. Their circumstances are changing on a monthly basis and we are doing the best we can to keep our mailing list current for everyone. Have a bunch of expired coupons but you're just not sure whether or not to mail them? The letters we receive from some of the families who are benefiting from these coupons are so awesome, they truly do appreciate your help!!! Just pick an address and mail them today!
